CONFETTI RUNNER CLASS

Confetti Runner is a one-day class offered Thursday, July 20 OR Saturday, August 12. 10 am - 4 pm and space is limited, so please register for either class by calling 620-736-2942. Class fee is $15 + Supplies + Trendy Table 2 book. This charm pack class features "confetti" and sashing to set together the blocks on point. Pieces are smaller, but still very workable. And yes, there will be a few different tools to try-out while you are in class. Table runner is 18 5/8”x46 7/8”. Class is taught by Needle owner, Cynthia Washburne.

ALL KANSAS & NEBRASKA SHOP HOP

his is the 2^nd year for the All Kansas & Nebraska Shop Hop with dates of April 1^st – May 31^st. Magazines are available for purchase to see maps & hours for the 89 participating stores. The Magazine also includes valuable patterns, projects, and articles.

Each participating store offers the Shop Hop fabric, along with other giveaways, raffles, and prizes. Participants have their passport stamped at each store they visit to qualify for additional prizes.

Chat with the other quilters to plan your “Great Sewing Adventures”. Pictured here are the exclusive Maywood Studio fabrics.

There are six Regions with the Needle being in the Southeast. You can go to each store to collect unique 4-inch Quilt Block. Keep collecting Quilt Blocks and combine them with the exclusive All Kansas & Nebraska Shop Hop Fabric to make a One-of-a-Kind Project. Cynthia's quilt is shown above.

Regional Quilt Blocks – Collect the stamps from all stores in a Region and we’ll send you a free 6-inch, on-point quilt block. Just turn in your passport to receive Regional quilt blocks; one block for each region completed.

State Quilt Block – Purchase a commemorative 8-inch finished state block. A free state block will be awarded to participants who collect stamps from all stores in that state.

FALCON RIDGE FABRICS

Falcon Ridge is a new line of fabrics here at the Needle. Notice the graphic design on the panel with coordinates with bolts. Interesting details so just imagine what quilting projects you could make. This fabric is designed by Andrew Denman for Northcott Fabrics.

CARPENTER'S STAR February 23

The CARPENTER'S STAR is part of The Needle's 2023 Beginner's Series and for those who want to try a new project. Class is Thurs, February 23, 10 am - 5 pm. This is a fast project, especially when using pre-cut squares. You'll improve your half-square triangle and squaring skills, as well as designing your layout for your charm pack. We will also have available a few tools to try-out while you are in class.

Cost is $15 + Supplies so please call 620.736.2942 to reserve your place.

Supplies may be purchased at the Needle before class. And remember, students receive a 10% discount on supplies on class day!

· 2 Special Charm Pack shown here, 1/4 yd Binding & 1 yd Backing

· -OR– 1 Regular Charm Pack with about 40 squares, 3/4 yd Background or 1 Charm Pack of Bella Solids or other Basic +1/4 yd for Binding & 1 yd Backing

Lady's Scrap Basket

I'm sorry to say several mistakes have been found on the color keys for the October Block of the Month, even after double checking. Please read carefully. Even if you have already cut, there is a chance you will have enough fabric. If not just call 620-736-2942, text or message...we will get you back on track.

1st--12 1/2" Flower Block is on page 8, not 18.

2nd--12 1/2" Basket Block p. 6...The colors need to be switched. Fabric #1 is the pink leaves for the baskets base. Fabric #2 is the blue with circles and is the basket handles, however it looks like the center star. If you follow the color plan, per quilt photo, you will be correct.

Yeah, the Needle website is back! Now, let’s talk about the Blog. A Blog is a quick way for the Needle to show you new fabrics, patterns/books, events plus what is happening. Just log into Needle in a Haystack (needlenahaystack.com) and you will go directly to the Blog. We hope to update the Blog often.

Little Balkans Quilt Show…Sept 3, 9 am – 5 pm and Sept 4, 9 am – 4 pm

Visit Needle’s Booth plus enjoy all of quilts on display. Admission is Festival Button ($5 donation) in Memorial Hall, 503 Pine, Pittsburg. Numerous activities throughout Pittsburg so say Hi to Cynthia.

Project Jelly Roll Workshop…Sept 16 0r 18 (17th is filled)…10 am – 4 pm

It's all about the 2½" strips! There will be a short presentation, door prizes & refreshments, all centered around Jelly Rolls. Since our classroom space limits 6 quilters, PLEASE MAKE RESERVATIONS BY CALLING 620-736-2942.

Then you can stay and sew on your own jelly roll project so bring your Sewing Machine & Supplies. We encourage you to tear open a Moda Jelly Roll and check out jelly roll patterns. Make something for yourself, as a gift or for charity!
